Noise assessment

Challenge

Noise pollution can cause health problems for people and wildlife, both on land and in the sea. From traffic noise to rock concerts, loud or inescapable sounds can cause hearing loss, stress, and high blood pressure. Noise from ships and human activities in the ocean is harmful to whales and dolphins that depend on echolocation to survive.

The Solution

We offer noise and vibration impact assessments for a range of development types. That are either noise sensitive, noise generating or both. Local Authorities require noise impact assessments for planning or permit applications. To ensure that any noise impacts lie within suitable guidance standards.

Before starting an assessment/survey we always determine local policy requirements. This is because, noise policies often differ between Local Authorities. By understanding all the requirements from the outset, our reports can be tailored to suit local requirements.

We provide long and short-term monitoring. The stations we use have an online functionality so the noise/vibration level can be viewed in real-time on PC’s and mobiles. If limit levels are reached or exceeded, an automated alert is sent via email and/or text.
